Morgan & Brad’s Myrtle Beach 16mm and Super 8 Wedding Film

Morgan & Brad’s Myrtle Beach 16mm and Super 8 Wedding Film

Morgan and Brad were married at a beach house in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and their wedding day was captured on real Kodak motion picture film. Their film was shot using a Bolex H16 camera, a Canon 1014XL-S, and a Canon 310XL, with Kodak 200T, 50D, and 500T film stocks used throughout the day.

Their wedding had the perfect feeling for Super 8 and 16mm film. A beach house setting, coastal light, family and friends gathered by the ocean, and the kind of relaxed atmosphere that feels honest and personal on film. Instead of creating something overly polished, this wedding film was made to feel nostalgic, emotional, and timeless.

A Myrtle Beach wedding filmed on Kodak motion picture film

There is something about real film that fits a coastal wedding beautifully. The color, grain, movement, and softness of Kodak motion picture film give the final wedding film a feeling that digital video cannot fully recreate. Super 8 brings the charm and intimacy of old home movies, while 16mm adds a cinematic quality with more detail and depth.

For Morgan and Brad’s wedding, we used a mix of Kodak 200T, Kodak 50D, and Kodak 500T. Each film stock has its own character. Kodak 50D is beautiful in bright daylight, 200T works well in softer light, and 500T gives a beautiful look in lower light and evening situations.
